Star Wars Uncut – Entering the Dark Place

We just submitted our scene to the Emmy winning film series, Star Wars Uncut. Our scene features Yoda and Luke Skywalker in the Empire Strikes Back. We took a little inspiration from Waking Life for the approach to the animation. Oh, and we even squeezed our banana logo in there which Luke stares at towards the end of the clip.

You wanted more games?  You got it!  Following up the successful football game on Scholastic’s site, we just built new basketball and baseball games based on their sport line of books.  In basketball, aim your shot to try to make as many baskets as you can in the time limit.  In baseball, hit as many home runs over the fence as you can before getting struck out!

I, Pineapple

Sunday, April 29th, 2012

Animax is pleased to release our first of several upcoming webisode shorts through Mondo Media.  The first short “I, Pineapple,” is live tonight on Mondo Media’s Youtube channel.

I, Pineapple” is a mundane video manifesto from the strange, sheltered life of one awkward, depressed pineapple. In this first episode, Pineapple talks calisthenics, laments soap-pieces and shares the benefits of going “full ball!”

Look forward to more of our pilots through Mondo Media.  And make sure to like the videos so these pilots can be made into ongoing series!

Just Won Three Pixie Awards

Friday, January 15th, 2010

With superlatives like “excellent” and “innovative,” Animax Entertainment just won three Pixie Awards for a mix of our original animation productions and client work. Popzilla and Bob & Doug won Platinum level awards (the highest honor), and then Joint’s Don’t Jump won Gold. The awards represent the work of many animators and in particular many Flash animators working together.

(Sorry if the Pixie Award image) is NSFW but hopefully you’re okay reading this blog post.

The virtual goods market is a one billion dollar market and is growing quickly. You see them in social networks, virtual worlds, online games, mobile apps, etc. We’re leveraging them for clients and prepping Fun Nugget to take advantage of them as well. Animax Entertainment‘s Tucker Aaron was quoted in AOL’s Money and Finance blog WalletPop about the growth of virtual goods. This week the Virtual Goods Summit is going on in San Francisco. We weren’t able to make it to that conference because we’re busy participating in Unite, the Unity 3D Developers conference also going on in San Francisco. Let us know if you’d like to meet up.
